Our Goal is to increase public awareness of Global Warming.  Here's our part.

Posters -- New York Harbor  

Wakeup:  The goal is to produce an emotional  impact in the viewers in fifteen seconds or less.    We are designing and producing  posters  (videos later) that will sneak up on the viewers  and take them by surprise  -- something that will elicit a sudden,  strong, unexpected, emotional response --  something that they can't simply forget is the next thirty seconds.  

Setting the Stage:   If we don't begin reversing Global Climate Change  immediately, the world's ice caps will all melt causing the ocean level to rise by about forty feet by the year 2099  or very likely much sooner.`  

The Visual Solution:   Imagine looking at pictures of well known objects as they would be seen in the year 2099 if Global Warming continues unchecked.   Imaging seeing the New York Harbor skyline with the bases of the buildings under forty feet of water  --  or New Orleans, Louisiana -- London, England -- Venice, Italy -- Washington D.C. --  the Netherlands -- Florida --  all partially submerged because climate change has melted the the world's ice cap.   Here's a description of a sample picture with  header and footer, using New York Harbor in the example.

The Picture:

The Captions:   

Header:  New York Harbor 2099 -- After Global Warming

Footer:  That's all right.   Don't be concerned.   Your grandchildren won't care how deep the ocean is, anyway.   Global Climate Change will have killed them long before this.

The Next  Step

As our next step in this process, we are producing, for Internet distribution, a mini version of the poster of New York Harbor as indicated above.    The Internet, PDF version  is being formatted for 8.5 x 11 paper so that anybody can print on their own computer and distribute as they see fit.   Using this medium, the Global Climate Change message can be  distributed  globally with grace and ease.    

 When called for, we will make larger formats available.   We will also create the headers and footers is any language called for.  

We are seeking photos that our Graphic Artist can use to create similar posters.   If you have photos that we can use,  if you can direct us to others who have photos we can use, please contact us.'   Pictures of well know scenes are ideal, such as the Sydney (Australia) opera house.   We will have both the before and after pictures on our website.

Yard Signs

Similar to Political Campaign Posters

People respond more positively to that with which they are familiar.   Yard posters can be used to create  familiarity, acquaintance, and awareness.   Politicians do this all the time in order to  get votes.    The same process can be applied to promoting awareness of Global Climate Change.    

Stores, Malls, Shops, Businesses    

Owners and managers of physical  locations such as stores, malls, businesses, et cetera could be asked to participate and be given a signs and posters for their front windows indicating they are part of the solution.   (Yard signs and/or window such as mentioned above  or   "We Recycle" could be used here.)

The Internet 

The Internet is a huge and available resource.   We are seeking (and finding)  someone with Internet blogging skills to take our messages onto the Internet in a manner that draws attention to what we are doing.

Concerts / Entertainment / Rock Music Events    

Members of the entertainment industry are key players in this awareness program.   These people have access to the public that most other people do not.   

Many celebrities are already speaking out on this issue.    Many celebrity-led programs are already underway.   Creating more concerts, events, programs and films will be major contributors to expanded awareness of Global Climate Change.   

There Are Many More Possibilities

Photos could be added to magazines and newspapers.  Public service announcements could be on television and radio.   Large and/or small posters could be hung in conspicuous places.   Bill boards could have messages on them. Et cetera.        (Video trailers could be added to the pre-movie clips at theaters.   Videos could also have  pre-movie clips added to them.)    

What would happen if a poster showing a map of the United States with all the coastal areas flooded under forty feet of ocean water were give to every third grader in the entire nation on the same day and they were all sent home with instructions to ask their parents to explain what was going on and why?

The Political Scene 

Because  most politicians today are owned by special interests, they only respond to the public when the public demands action.   Our combined effort (this includes you) will demand that they shift from protecting money interests to protecting the people and the environment.
