Unless we take some time to turn Runaway Global Warming back off,
devastating, deadly, and irreversible consequences will drastically reduce
the human population. It's so serious that it could even lead to
human extinction. Here's what the evidence tells us:
What is Runaway Global Warming?
In addition to releasing vast amounts of carbon dioxide into the Earth's atmosphere,
human-caused Climate Change
has also triggered the
release of the 10,000 billion tons of methane presently frozen in the Arctic
Circle. Methane is twenty times more destructive to
the environment than carbon dioxide. Each year, the amount of
this gas being released is increasing.
Unless this self-expanding cycle is reversed
within the next five to ten years, the rate of release will escalate
very rapidly to the level where it will become un-stoppable. If we do not take action intentionally designed to stop
this cycle, the entire 10,000 billion tons of methane presently frozen in the Arctic
Circle will automatically be released into the atmosphere. The environment will be drastically
altered.
The Earth’s temperature will rise about eighteen degrees
Fahrenheit causing most large life forms on the entire planet to become
extinct.
The ocean level will rise by about forty
feet forcing billions of people out of their homes.
Millions of square miles of the world's most
beautiful and productive land will be under water. Major
cities like London, Venice, New York, Washington, New Orleans will be mostly under
water, as will much of Florida and Louisiana.
Glaciers and mountain snow caps will
disappear leaving over
thirty percent of the world’s population without fresh water in the dry
season.
Billions of people will die of environmental exposure
or starvation.
Dozens of other highly destructive changes will occur. The consequences will be devastating, deadly, and
irreversible!
The Artic meltdown is just one
single aspect on a huge list of global-level problems, each of which is a
serious problem in and of itself --- problems such as air
pollution, water pollution, deforestation, topsoil erosion, overpopulation,
starvation, sea-level rise, crime, economic instability, global-level
terrorism, rain forest destruction, bio-diversity loss, animal extinction,
and pollution-caused human health problems.
Most of the people in
present administration with the
capacity to take actions designed to reverse warming are
ignoring this vital and incredible
urgent issue or giving it
little more than lip service. For
example, in his major speech at the
Republican National Convention on September 4,
2008, Republican candidate for President of
the United States, John McCain spent about forty
minutes telling the delegates what he intends to do
if elected president.
Not
even once in his entire four-thousand-word speech
did he ever mention the environment.
The common
human reaction to any challenge to their belief system is to do
ignore it, ridicule it, reject it, and/or fight it
until disaster strikes or until the evidence overwhelms them. **1
When the truth finally emerges victorious, they emerge from their
illusion and say, "We knew
that all along."
Unfortunately, if we
ignore this truth, when the final bell tolls, there
will no bell to ring, nobody to hear it ring, and
nobody to say, "We know that all
along." The ghost of humanity might
hear a whisper in the wind, "Extinction is
Forever!"
