More Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide

We have turned on Runaway Global Warming! --  

Overpopulation and human activity have turned on Runaway Global Warming and set in motion dozens of highly-destructive Global Climate Changes.   Human activity has triggered the release of the 10,000 billion tons of methane presently frozen in the Arctic Circle.   (Methane decays into CO2)  Unless we reverse this self-expanding cycle within the next five years, the rate of release will escalate very rapidly to the level where it will  become un-stoppable.   (Critics say our timing is way off, that we have plenty of time to solve our problems.  What if they are wrong?   Is that abet you want to make?) 

Once we pass the point of no return, the consequences will be devastating, deadly, and inevitable!  (Temperature rise of eighteen degrees Fahrenheit --  Sea-level rise of forty feet -- The extinction of most large life forms on the entire planet.)

Fossil-Fuel-Generated Electric Power

Burning coal to produce electric power is insanity at it's finest.  It's also a bargain that matches perfectly with the idea of making  a pact with the Devil.   You probably have heard numerous fictional accounts of people who make deals with the Devil.  Essentially, the story line is that the person temporarily gets his wishes, he gets his ways and reaps the benefits of his bargain, but later down the line, he must pay for his pleasure by experiencing incredible pain and suffering at the hands of the Devil.   Obtaining electricity by way of coal-burning, electric-power-producing plants is a real life story that is exactly the same as making a pact with the Devil -- small benefits now followed by massive destruction and incredible suffering later.

The coal-burning electric power companies are raping nature's carbon sinks  and poisoning the atmosphere at a level that, if it's allowed to continue, will kill billions of humans and cause the extinction of at least half of the life forms on the entire planet.   

Species Extinction

Human overpopulation and human activity is causing the death and extinction of uncounted thousands of unique, irreplaceable life forms on Earth?

Present estimates (2000) are that life forms on Earth are becoming extinct at the rate of one per hour - - that is 24 extinctions each and every day,  168 extinctions per week,  720 extinctions pre month,  and 8,760** extinctions per year.   That’s an extinction rate equaled only by the demise of the dinosaurs.   And, as you well know, EXTINCTION IS FOREVER!   

***  A more recent estimate of the species extinction rate place the rate at one every twenty minutes, that over 26,000 extinctions per year.   The latest estimate (Jan 2002) is that if global worming continues at the present rate, a million species will very likely become extinct in the next fifty years.   

***  2005 estimates raise that rate to about 50,000 per year.
